building and using a fire; topic containing about 275 words

Fires are used for a lot of things, for example cooking or making weapons.

starting a fire:

There are several ways to start a fire. For some methods you must be on a wood tile. This can either be done by cutting down a tree, or by dropping 10 branches or wood on the ground.

*use firestarter: requires dry ground (grass, sand, leaves).

*combine match plus open matchbox: requires wood tile.

*combine flint plus knife: requires wood tile. May need to combine multiple times.

*use lighter: requires wood tile and 1 lighter fluid.

Note: the starting health of the fire is determined by the method you use.

keeping it alive:

Once the fire is going, you can drop items from your bag to increase the fire's health. Different items give the fire different amounts of health, some even decrease it.

This is a good way to get rid of useless items. However if you do not have many useless items or you want to save them, you can keep the fire going by picking up resources around you and dropping them onto it.

If there are no items or resources around, you can create your own resource tile. Other people can also drop items to make sure it doesn't die out.

available tasks:

A fire has many purposes, and multiple people can benefit from it at the same time.

*temperature: when warm clothing isn't enough or you don't have much, you can use this to increase the heat.

*cookery: fry food via a skillet, spit, or your hand; boil water via a pot or skillet.

*forge: bend metal; sharpen weapon blades.

*mold: harden soft materials.
